HAM follows the contented life of Rabbit – capturing daily adventures, sporting escapades and social outings in silhouette form on a range of thoughtfully crafted wares.
HAM’s debut homeware collection of ceramics and fabrics were first picked up by Liberty and have since been exhibited in London, New York and Paris, featured on the pages of international magazines and resided on the shelves of leading retailers in over thirty countries around the world, including Conran, Centre Pompidou, Colette and West Elm.
HAM is the brainchild of artist and illustrator Jo Ham who gained a BFA in Fine Art with a specialism in anatomy from Oxford University's Ruskin School of Art.
HAM seeks to celebrate the everyday. Jo has always been fascinated by popular culture and uses Rabbit to shine a light on life’s simple moments - in particular how we interact with one another through work and play.
The resulting social commentary creates HAM's happy world, where our daily rituals, likes and hobbies are immortalised in print for all to enjoy.
In 2018, Jo was awarded Natwest's UK Creative Industries Entrepreneur of the Year and in 2019 the Aviva Women of the Future Arts and Culture Prize. In 2024, Rabbit was selected for the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition.
In 2023, Jo launched her first two picture books, Yippee! Rabbit and Uh-oh! Rabbit in partnership with Walker Books UK, Candlewick Press America and Walker Books Australia. Ham's third book, Oops! Rabbit, then followed in early 2024. With board books of the series scheduled for 2025, Jo is currently working on her fourth addition to the Rabbit series.
Aside from HAM, Jo is also a visual artist. Using photograms and digital imaging she blurs the lines between drawing and photography, fashion and fine art. Recent commissions include artwork for Saatchi Gallery London, Nike, The Berkeley Hotel and Eurostar.
HAM has created bespoke Rabbits and packaging for The Body Shop's Forever Against Animal Testing Campaign, dressed the Rabbits in Moncler for their House of Genius Project, made gold leaf artwork for Print Club London, collaborated on limited edition chocolate with Coco Chocolatiers, designed a giant mural for kids design shop Molly Meg and installed public art Design junction Kings Cross x London Design Festival.
Jo has also wrapped a Mini Countryman in Rabbits, styled store windows for retailer West Elm, hosted at workshop at Institute of Contemporary Art Boston, exhibited at Colette Paris, run a pop-up store at Topshop's flagship and created limited edition art prints for the cancer charity Maggie's and the children's charity Rainbow Trust.
